In this case, a cabinet for a combination amplifier. Slang is fun sometimes, yeah? Lol I've built a new cabinet to house the amplifier and speaker for my old amp. I'd decided to do so, and give it to my brother in law as he's always loved the sound of the amp, and as practice to possibly build my own amplifier.

If your experiment works out well, I just may ask you to build me one, Kev.

If this sounds good, my next will be building a cab for my boss katakana 2x12. I love the tones from the Kat, but the ergonomics suck for me. I'm open to build others by request. You'd have to send me your amp, and tell me how you want it to look. I may have a retirement plan going... lol

This is the raw wood I started with. I had a specific, old 50's Sears and Roebuck look I was going for, and I really liked the characteristics of this Ponderosa Pine.

    First rough cuts:

The rest was sanding, shaping the edges, 3 coats of stain (2 different colors) 5 coats of wax, burnishing to OEM shiny black plastics for a more worn look, etc.

What an end to the week. My little bro plays on my hockey team. He had a breakaway in our late night game, when some stupid fuck tripped him from behind. He went flying leg-first into the boards and crushed his tibia in his leg below the knee. Broke it in at least 4 spots. Poor kid knew it was broke right away but didn't want an ambulance. The boys hauled him back to the bench and he sat there trying not to pass out for the last couples minutes of the game

After that we carried him to the locker room where he had a couple beers and helped him take his gear off before being taken to the hospital. I knew he was the tough one in the family but he took it like an absolute rock star. The ER doc didn't understand how he was so calm after seeing his mangled X-ray.

The ER put him in a cast right up to his hip and he'll see an Orthopedic Surgeon on Monday to find out if it needs pins, which I'm sure it does because when he adjusted his cast last night on the couch, he could actually feel bones crunching around (my dad said he heard it)

Fuck I feel sick to my stomach for him. Going to miss a lot of work and the rest of the hockey season, and he'd just rented an apartment to move out of home at the end of this month... I might hunt down the guy who tripped him...

Yikes, sorry to hear about the bro and the busted leg GF. I broke my femur and had it pinned so I've got that tshirt.

    Funny story of coincidence:

A friend and I were at the drive-in one night smoking a fatty, we get a knock on the window. Dude wants to borrow a rolling paper. So we invite him into my friend's truck for a bit. Guy starts looking at my friend strangely and then blurts out, "Number 18 from Trails West???" My friend (who is about 6'3'' and 230 lbs) says yeah, who wants to know?

Turns out my friend was playing defense on that team and creamed this guy into the boards. No boarding, crosschecking or roughing call, clean hit. The hit broke the guy's collarbone

Guy goes on to tell my buddy he had to take a year off hockey because of it, lost the scoring and points title for two years, and still has pain issues.

My friend says and I quote, "Well man, you shouldn't have tried coming up the right side."

They sold out their stock of the rifle twice. If they get it back in stock for a third time while the sale is still going on, I'm buying it.

We got up leaves today and had to drag them down to the street on a tarp. Days like this where I can feel my age. Im moving mighty slow right now.

It's the weekend. I'm sure if you did that kind of work every day you'd get your physical tone back

As far as I kniw, ponderosa is native to North Amerca. Iirc, it's fairly slow growing for Pine. There's one on my family land in Mississippi that is over 200 years old, trunk is about 3ft in diameter. It was (and still is ( my favorite tree when I was youbg.

Get one of these, or a pull along if you have a riding mower. I bought one for my mower years ago and love it!
