My sister sent a fuckload of small gifts and tins of fudge (she makes fudge for about 30 people every year).
I have this ghetto ceramic Xmas tree that's about 14 inches high. My version of not celebrating this year by not putting up a real tree and decorating the house.
So I'm wrapping a few gifts for my Mom, I set out the stuff my sister sent...and I start getting a little melancholy and misty eyed

My sister just sent a box by Ace courier. Kind of an old school courier company.
I happened to be home and see this 109 year old black dude walk up to my step holding just a hand written waybill (brought back total PTSD from my old job).
I ask if I can help? He says - I just wanted to make sure someone was home because you heard of those people in the States stealing deliveries? I say yes.
Then he goes back to get the box.
If it was UPS or Canada Post the dude would have just dropped the box on the step. I caught one of those fucks not even bothering to ring the doorbell one year for his delivery

Poor guy...it was -20 so I offered to go get the box, then asked him if he wanted a cup of tea or coffee...I kept asking him to come in and get warm for a second, he politely refused all offers."109 years old"..
