You see, this is where my selfish complaints come from. He takes over every place he inhabits, and doesn't care about what was there before he walked into the room.
I'm supportive of people who have done well in life, but his level of want vs need is off the chart.
I can hardly wait until tomorrow, when I can return this house to a level of simple need and cleanliness. You know....only one computer and phone per room sort of thing?
He's 6"4' and used to pick on me endlessly growing up.
Years ago I was on the phone and he thought it would be funny to grab my arm, wrench it up behind my back and apply pressure.
So I lost my mind. I dropped the phone, chased him into the kitchen and threw an overhand haymaker Rocky Marciano would have been proud of.
He knew I was going to clock him, so he turned away and kind of dropped his shoulder cowering and put his head down.
I ended up rabbit punching him in the back of the neck hard... and hitting his back so he collapsed on the kitchen floor.
He starts whining and screaming from the floor - That's not right! You can't use that self defense shit on me! That's not fair!!!
My Dad was sitting at the kitchen table and I thought that was it. I'm kicked out of the house because we had a no violence policy.
My Dad then says - I told you Dave. One of these days hal is going to repay you for the way you've treated him. You deserved that.
I was furious and screamed at my bro - You want to continue this outside in the park??? Let's go you fucking bully!!!
Dad asked me to quit swearing and made my brother apologize

Karma will really kick your brother in the ass one of these days, I'm a firm believer in it.
He tried to be kind to me yesterday for a few minutes...I checked around for hidden cameras.
He's given me a modicum of respect since I've been primary care giver for my Mom and Dad.
But as I told my sister, that doesn't erase years of abuse and disrespect. Apologies do that and his ego is just too big...
We've had a few life changing moments like the kitchen incident above... Again, sister says a lot changed that day because he became scared of me
That's no way to work out problems between siblings.
Been quit for 11 years, and I still get cravings. Ridiculous. I wish I had never picked up smoking at all.

I had the ideal quitting situation. No job, no stress and a supportive room mate (my Dad).
I was a heavy smoker (over 25 per day) for over 30 years.
And it was a lot easier than I feared
I wish I would have quit years back, but I was always afraid of the withdrawal.
