My property tax bill for this year. The two items the red arrow shows are going directly to the school district. That's just a touch more than 60% of my property taxes going to the school. The same with every other property in the same school distract. Add that to the fact that the state of Colorado spent an additional $7.1 billion in taxpayer funds on education this past school year. Plus we get a list of stuff that runs between $100 and $200 every year that we have to buy to give to the kid and/or the school. But the schools are all supposedly broke and the teachers underpaid. Where the fuck does all that money go then?

They have a 3-day music festival called Rockville at Metropolitan Park, which is not too far from Everbank Field (Jaguars football stadium), which is part of the Sport's Complex where the baseball grounds is at. Subsequently, every single parking spot in the area that should belong to the baseball grounds was filled and every other parking spot in the surrounding area was $20. I'm still baffled at how they can justify charging $20 per parking spot. Either way, attending a concert or sport event, I'd be livid.

That's Boston and Minnesota. We're talking Jacksonville, where everything is cheaper. You can build a mansion here for $500,000. If they want $20 for parking, they better build some 20 story parking garages.

Being a convertible solves one of the reasons I wouldn't own one, the gigantic blind spots. The other issue is it's really hard to judge where the front end ends.

Yup, it's the same here for the Rockies, if you want "cheap" parking (around $7 last time I went to a game and had to park) you have to walk a quarter mile or so to the stadium. Close up parking is gonna run you $30 in Denver.

Well, worked on the fence all weekend. Had to work on Saturday and on the way home I picked up the concrete to do the job. Originally my plan was to replace that whole section of 5' fence in the backyard because it's all old anyway. Only got the worst part of it done because doing that fence kicked my ass. My arms and back are still fucking sore. And of course it was the first time we've been in the 80's this year, and it happened both days.



It started with digging up three of these cylinders of concrete to put the new posts in. There were three posts that had to be replaced. After digging those three up, I was whipped. No way I was going to do three more after that (and there's only one more rotten post that has to be replaced. The rest feel fairly solid for now.). Finally after getting those dug up, I cemented the 3 new posts in the ground and then did the 2x4 work but that was it, that was all day (I finally stopped at about 6pm after working for 5 hours that morning and working on the fence ALL the rest of the day). Did all the pickets yesterday and my arms are still killing me from putting in all those screws. I did get a chance to put that Ryobi drill to the test this weekend and it performed flawlessly. Must have done between 600 and 700 screws and it didn't miss a beat. Definitely worth the investment. But fuck me, I don't want to deal with a fence again any time soon, even though I've still got about 50' left of crappy 5' fence to deal with sometime in the future.

I've been really pleased with everything Ryobi I have bought. Their stuff is inexpensive, interchangable with batteries, you can buy "tool only" even cheaper and it works well.

Here we would have had to put the pickets on the other side of the fence, code says the "nice" side has to face the neighbor. And yea, thats a lot of hard labor, not surprised your hurting.
