Yeah but my version is one back from yours
I know the basic premise. The OS version is the same for each maker, Samsung, LG, Huawei, etc and then they tweak the base OS with their special features.
One last question then I'll give up the idea. You can bring up a search to check for things within your phone...have you tried searching for 'whitelist'?
Ok, people are all kinds of getting on my last nerve today. Not a good way to end the year, me.

If I swipe down with one finger, it pulls the black notifications/shortcuts drawer (?) down. Not sure of the correct name. If I do a similar motion, it keeps bringing up a search function that appears with a search box and a little keyboard. It says 'search apps, contacts, messages'. I'm looking at it now but can't tell you the exact motion because it's so close to the one finger swipe down that brings up the notifications tray.
Doesn't matter. If you can't find the category through your phone dialer/settings it may not be there. It's weird because I don't think Huawei created the harassment filter app, and that it's part of the 5.1 OS in general.
I'm bringing up the search function now Seems to be a real quick, short swipe from the top of the phone and stopping about an inch down or almost instantly after starting the swipe.
DGX, open your dialer like you're going to dial a number manually and hit settings from there. What are your available categories there after settings?
I'm sure you can block calls on that thing. Did some reading and they do refer to the dialer as an app, but I don't think you have to get a different one to do this.
Pocahontas has formed a Presidential exploratory committee. I wonder if they'll tell her the truth or just tell her what she wants to hear?

Oh no, no, no... I can block callers. I have that. What I don't have is the app RBP was talking about. The "ignore suspected spam callers" app. It's an autofilter maintained by Verizon themselves. You just switch the app on and the spammers don't get through without any action from you. That's what I don't have. My lamentation has nothing to do with an inability to block spam calls, it's the fact that it's so prevalent now that providers don't just keep a list of reported spammers and block them for us so we don't have to be bothered by them. But the providers do do that. It's native on many android phones nowadays and has been for a few years now. But I don't have it on my phone. It's a feature included by default on newer phones with newer versions of android apparently. Verizon does have an app that can do that on my phone, but I have to pay for it on a monthly basis. And that's why they're dicks.
I'm sorry, we were on different wavelengths.

That changes things. No worries man. In that arena I did come across a setting from the dialer call settings titled - Block calls that ring once. I suspect that has something to do with potential scam calls.
I have a whole story about the latest telemarketer calls I've been getting on my land line, but they're not important to this. One that leaves a scratching noise as a message, one that if you pick up they will keep calling back every 20 minutes or so...some from Jamaica, Virginia, California area codes.
Kind of a unique thing I was reading about. Some of the scammers will mask their call using the same three number prefix of your line. Not the area code, the three numbers right after. They somehow get old numbers (typically from people that have died) and mask their location because the caller ID looks like someone down the street is calling you.
I hate those things

I had my first drink in years last night. Pinot Grigio. Light weight and far less than a full glassfull, but still. I can't say I haven't drank in years anymore.
