You say lazy? Thermometer outside says -22 and it's windy.

    220 Volts?

I've noticed electric Kettles take 10 minutes to boil in the states

Yeah, 208/220 vac. Most stuff stateside is 110 volts. Just some appliances and larger power tools are 220. It cuts current load in half, but then in your area Lost, everything is 220 yes?

    Still living in the 1960's?

What voltage do you lot use over there? Most of our standard household current is 110v, 220v is only for high draw stuff like furnace,A/C electric stove, etc. A plug in electric kettle would probably be 110v.

Much less common here. Kettles go on the stove.

    Not the plug in variety

So you still boil water using a stove kettle? That seems 1800's to me, not the other way around.

Just looked at three houseware sites. Electric kettles outnumber stove top models by at least 4 to1.

Oooh, they have cordless electric kettles too

Maybe I just don't use kettles.

effin blue blooded Nor' easter Yankee fucks

I make pour over coffee using a carafe and drink tea sometimes so the electric kettle is a quick way to boil water.

I used to nuke a large Pyrex mixing glass for tea in the microwave until one night it stopped turning and made a bunch of funny noise and maybe sparks n stuff

Kettle always from that moment forward!
