I should open the garage door again...then shout JUST KIDDING!
shit...guy was just here. Power will be shut off for 20 minutes.
That was hilarious. DGX makes his post about the power being turned off and three things happen simultaneously:
Land line rings - gas company on their way
my cell phone alarm goes off - time to put onions and garlic in crockpot
back door bell rings - power guys says they need to turn the power off for about 20 minutes (they dropped our house line to the ground, then hooked it up again to the cross lines in the alley)
I tell the power guy he can't turn it off because I'm on the net looking at boobies - he thought that was great

What...things all happened at once and I feared for my dinner's life
Just put it in the microwave to finish it
If you watch any cooking shows, they show that the way to cook a steak, if you can't get it on a grill, is to do it in a cast iron pan
Well, that's not very fair. Not surprising, but still not very fair.

Sister is going to stay at her friend's house tonight...last day with her
We're going shopping this morning for food (fuck am I fat this week).
She helped me take down the Christmas lights yesterday. Well, she stood at the bottom of the ladder while I threw down the light sections
Not used to having help with anything or someone to make coffee for in the morning. I'm going to miss her.

How was dinner last night? As good as it smelled?
Oh man it was divine. Since there's only a baseline on how to do a crockpot roast (and a person really can't screw it up..) I love the randomness of being able to throw almost anything you want into it.
We had lots of vegetables, lots of onion and garlic cloves (sister chopped up 12 cloves because we're related ) and I used a combo of packaged gravy mix, flour, some Saskatchewan Steak Seasoning my Dad had...and it turned out awesome
Cheaper cut of meat and it turned out super tender because you know...eight hours on high in a crockpot will make even the most stubborn piece of meat submit

Yup, can't beat a crockpot, they are awesome
