Wife texted me a little while ago and said she told the kid about the e-mail threat, now she (the kid) is all freaked out over it. I just texted her and tried to convey to be aware, but don't freak out too much because it was already investigated by the police and deemed to be 'not credible' and that if they thought there was actually any real danger, they would have canceled school today.

I know violence isn't an answer to things, but I swear if I got my hands on the people making these fake fucking threats and freaking people out, I would kill them.

Yes anyone who thinks shootings are funny or how it would be a rush to make fun of people dying...needs to have a few liberties taken away from them. Like breathing..

Ugg. Just logged 4 hours working from home by spending it on the phone with Spectrum internet and cable. That makes a total of 8 hours on the phone, 4 hours troubleshooting and recording info myself and 4 hours working with repair techs this week.

True, I was technically working from car as I had to drive down to the dock to get a stable cell signal. So I spent 4 hours on the phone while staring at the lake.
Called my boss after to get some account info, he got pissed I was logging so much time fixing Spectrums fuck ups. He's gonna call them and bitch until they reimburse him for my time. I said good luck with that.

I was making jokes with the two guys who do tire intake appointments at the tire store yesterday and said - Hey guys, if you need someone who can work from home I need a job and I'm your man!

One of the techs this week (new guy) Overheard me talking shop to the tech on scene, He thought I worked for the company and was out of uniform. I said nope, everything I know about your system I learned in the last 5 days. He said, "damn you should work for us!" I said "And take a pay cut?"

I got a job at an oil company as a summer student in 1985. I got about 5 minutes training on this device that was pretty much a microfiche reader and over the course of a week learned how to input township and range maps...minor geophysical bullshit.

I meet this older guy who had worked there for a few years and he asked where I went to college, what degrees I had, where did I get my experience with the machine from, etc.

After telling him only high school and that I learned what I was doing on the fly over the past few days, he stormed off. Someone else told me he took 4 years getting his degree and before I showed up, he used to be the guy who was doing the same job functions. Sorry pal

Just for perspective, my kitchen table is fairly large and those things are bigger than my shopping bags
