I'm going to kill him. (not cheese)
Watch the local newstories...I'll never make it until Saturday.

You ever hear the story of Belle Gunness?
Handfuls of her children and husbands died/disappeared under mysterious circumstances. Coincidentally right around the time insurance policies were bought in their names naming Belle as the beneficiary.
Arsenic was common back then along with sudden stomach upset
What is his purpose for being there this time?
Would it be possible to purposefully disappear without a trace today?
And remain alive and undiscovered?

Music was better when ugly people were allowed to make it.
Best Belle Gunness mystery - She's married to a guy who has a life insurance policy for 2000 dollars. He buys another policy for 3000 dollars to take effect once the old policy expires. The two policies happen to overlap for one day, as the guy was careful about letting things lapse.
Mysteriously, he dies on the exact day the two policies overlap. Cause of death? Belle reports he came home with a headache one day, she gave him quinine powder and checked on him later...dead.
This was late 1800's/early 1900's. 5000 back then in today's money, over 150000

Simple answer would be anyone can buy cement and lay down a sidewalk in their yard.
There are also a lot of high powered garden tools these days that could probably change a body into a manageable, yet unrecognizable size.
