When I want a tone with effects, I usually use the katana amp. When I just want to play, clean or dirty, I use the fender. My plan, such as it is, is to run the 2 amps wet/dry, not stereo.

I can't live without pedals. They're kind of an addiction. There are some sounds you just can't get without pedals. Just saying.

So your wet set up is the Boss Katana, and your dry is the Fender (which one?). You can't really get a better naturally clean tone than Fender's, depending on the amp. Boss released a MK 2 for the Katana. There might be a firmware upgrade for the one you have. Don't quote me on that. It doesn't hurt to check.

Technically speaking, I could do a wet/dry set up with a stereo set up on one of the sides. I've got 3 amps. 2 of which suck really hard. Well, 1 that sucks really hard, I just have a low opinion of digital amps, so I say my Flextone 2 sucks, when in actuality, it's amp modeling section is pretty impressive. I just prefer tube amps. I haven't played through an Axe FX yet, so my opinion could change.

You should talk to Jay about minimal set ups. I think he's got a pretty impressive set up that doesn't take up too much space.
