I've never had an allergy to anything except maybe some hay-fever when I mowed lawns as a summer job... but as I get a bit older I'm getting more and more allergic to beer it seems. At first I only noticed it with really hoppy beers from small breweries that were probably high in tannins or histamines or whatever... but now even some regular pale ales make me get that asian flush thing where my face gets all hot and red, and I get stuffy. It fucking sucks because I love beer Helps if I pop a reactine/claritin or something but still why would I start developing an allergy to something I've been drinking a couple nights a week for 14+ years.

I'm allergic to shrimp and shellfish, despite having been able to eat all of it without issue for the first 23 years of my life. It used to be a staple of my diet. I don't know what changed or why, but sometimes shit just happens. Sometimes you just have to roll with the punches.

I haven't! I guess it could be gluten, I'll give that a try. I get this reaction from some red wine sometimes now too and I recently tried some 'natural' red wine which it didn't give me a reaction at all. Doesn't taste as flavorful but it's pretty good.

Doesn't assume anything about gluten. There could be something else at play. Get tested for gluten intolerance to be certain.

I honestly doubt it's gluten, I eat a fuckload of gluten and I'm perfectly healthy otherwise

...I don't even think I'd want to know if it was that

You would be torn up if you had gluten intolerance, or worse, Celiac disease. There wouldn't be a question about it, you'd absolutely know. Check out the article I edited into my previous post.

    Check histamine intolerance also.
