Story from work that cracked me up today.
We've had this funny Irish girl at our company for a few years. You get a pint or two in her and she swears like a sailor, cunt this, fuck that. But I just learned today that she has and will never address one of our colleagues by their first name: Fanny. This Chinese gal at work's name is Fanny, and apparently to Irish folks that is a far, far worse word than 'cunt' (which I'm sure many of the North American's would agree is one of the most vulgar words to us over here). I never realized it, but she has for years danced around addressing her by her first name despite working in offices right beside each other
