My portfolio is down about 15% in a week. I'm still net positive over 12 months (dividends are more important than growth stocks - bank on that) but I don't know what the fuck to do. Some of the futures are down tomorrow, some are up. I sold a few of my positions with the largest gains but I need to know if this the bottom or only the beginning... Can someone please lend me their crystal ball? I'll give it back to you in a month, m'kay?

Maybe, maybe not. I think this is going to become a normal thing, like the Flu. You're aware that the flu in North America is considered a pandemic, right? 10s of thousands of people die from it every year. That's why we have the yearly flu shot. In a while, we're gonna have a Covid-19 vaccine that we're gonna have to take every year as well to deal with this and mutations. But we'll be alright.

I just want to be smart with my money if this thing causes a recession. The last real one was a decade ago and I wasn't really investing then as a college student It feels more stressful this time around seeing my life savings drop 15% in a week because I haven't truly lived through it before.

Yeah, but you're relatively young. You can ride out the troughs and crests. Older people getting closer to retirement will get screwed worse than you. Keep an emergency fund of cash out of the market for when things go downhill. Keep in mind that the market will rise and fall. And pounce on the market as it recovers.

Denver is the safest place, the virus can't survive at altitude
