I don't think we topped 10 mph the whole time though. But I think it will be several more parking lot lessons before she will be ready to actually get out on the road. And when we do that, I'm going to have to get her outside of the city where there is far less traffic before I throw her into the mess that is Denver metro traffic.
Nice My dad started me off at the local cricket pitch where he was the groundsman - think i was around 10 or 11 Manual gears so there was a stall or two and plenty 'kangaroo petrol' moments to begin with It was great though, made life a lot easier for me when i actually took real lessons and sat my test

It will still be awhile, she needs a total of 50 hours of supervised driving plus another 10 hours of supervised nighttime driving, so there's still a looooooong road to go

I remember the first time my dad took me out on the roads at night - we were out on the back roads (country lanes) and it started fucking snowing I was shiting myself the entire time, could barely see 10 yards ahead!

What age are you allowed on the roads over there, is it 16? 17 over here - you can then apply for a provisional licence and drive under supervision.

My grandfather taught me the basics of driving on a tractor, once I was old enough to bounce on the clutch pedal and throw it in gear. My uncle taught me how to actually drive on the road when I was around 12. Uncle also taught me how to race cars.

Actually, now that you mention it, i was driving tractors, a scrambler motorbike and a quad on a schoolmate's farm when i was a kid too so i guess i had plenty of practice before driving for real! I remember my mate and i falling off the bike a few times out in the fields, no idea how we always walked away injury-free

Posted this elsewhere, but am honestly curious of yalls opinions.
Trying to figure out the logic. If folks cant work, theres no taxable income, much less food. How is this a good thing for the uber lords( political party)? Politics, on local, state and federal levels, are extremely dependent upon the tax $$ raised. If say 40% of the working population is no longer working, doesn't that immediately equal a 40% reduction in the tax base? Once the dumbasses that we have all elected figure this out, Covid19 will disappear faster than a $20 bill in a politician's hand.

Except that the job losses are at the lower end of the scale and the taxes are paid at the top. The business taxes are probably a larger issue. But yes, tax losses are massive and the emergency fund distributions are devastating. The interesting question is why we have not seen any government furloughs. If they can't recover budgets, why haven't they reduced expenses?

Just spent 30 mins or so on the phone with a cousin. She and I were very close when younger. Without getting into details, all I'll say is,no mater how you think your life is going, someone in your family is way more screwed up than you thought. I can't even smdh. I always thought she had her shit together, other than the forays into her HS sweetheart (he's a drug addict) but, damn. I'm absolutely shocked. Dunno what I'm going to say next time I talk with my aunt.
