You're describing my right eye. I am getting the distance lenses so I'll need computer glasses. I'm fine with that. They first gave me the option of only getting one eye done with a less than perfect vision lens so they could correct it for the other eye. That make zero sense to me, so... doing them both. They didn't even recommend the multifocals... I must have looked poor.

I'm sorry but that sounds absolutely horrible to me. They remove your eye lens and replace it? Are you awake and aware during the process?

Yes they do. And yes you are. My surgeon uses a liquid sedative that he tells me is the equivalent of slamming 5 cocktails.

I've never had 5 cocktails straight, so I can't imagine.

I offered to just slam five cocktails before the surgery. He prefers his method.

Yeah, for real dude. How else is he gonna charge you that extra $50K on top of what he's charging you for the surgery, the supplies, the work of the staff, the paperwork, the electricity he uses while you're on the table, and the water and gas too, the work of billing your insurance, and the time his staff will have to fight with them to get what payment he thinks he's owed by them...

Oh, and I forgot the face masks. The one's he was using for years before the Wu Flu, but now he's gotta charge more because of the Wu Flu, and he's gotta charge you for the steps they're not really gonna take to combat the Wu Flu while you're there...

And if they can't help, try Amazon or eBay. I actually found some obsolete parts for a PC on Amazon at a good price.
Saw some "Crucial" yesterday on eBay - single 8Gb stick but has to come from America - takes far too long to wait.... plus it may have Covid-19 when it gets here... (not cheap either with having to pay freight on this particular one).

My doctors never mentioned them either, I had to bring up the option. Apparently there is no middle. Patients either love them or hate them afterwards with the haters blaming the doctor, so most won't even mention multifocals. There is also the fact that insurance only covers part of the surgery but none of the lens, unlike the basic lens which is covered according to your policy.

It's actually the most common surgery done. Least invasive also. Filling out the paperwork takes longer than the procedure.
I was pretty apprehensive on the first eye but the next surgery I was like "Let's get this done."
The most amazing part was walking outside and seeing how vibrant colors were... I had forgotten.
