I'm ready to get out of the city too. At least to the suburbs. I live right on the edge of downtown currently, 10 minutes from work and walking distance from shops and restaurants, but it's still a concrete jungle with high rises on all sides and d-bags constantly revving engines. My patio is tiny and hardly gets enough sun to grow weeds in a planter.
I'm ready to go back to commuting if it means I get a yard. Many people are deciding that city life is not what they want but as there is a pretty good high speed rail network, many can move well away from the city and have just an hour or so commute.... keeping their job and changing their leisure time lifestyle.
