They want sporks. The Aussie gov won't let them have them. J/K

99% of the userbase is American, and clearly we have very little in common these days with regards to our thoughts, beliefs, our way of life - all completely different. At times i have to bite my tongue because i know i'll just cause arguments if i post what i really mean/feel.
I think i'd be right in saying i'm the only member left here from Europe? Pretty lonely place at times other than our daily sillyness.
I'm friends with redred on facebook, his last message to me there was that he "needed a break from the Americans"
I know we're all friends here, and i know none of you purposefully go out to piss off the non-US contingent, but it can be a bit overbearing at times. The last few months in particular with all the election bullshit just drains me. I click on new posts and half of it is to do with the election (if not directly then indirectly) and it even overflows into other threads with the odd comment here and there.
I think i just need a break......

The election thread is a perfect example - i try to get a better idea of how you guys think, try to get a bit of debate going from US to EU only to receive the old "you're not American so you wouldn't understand" answer.

I dunno why you guys feel like you cant speak up....yeah we'll say shit back to you, but that's part and parcel of Amendment #1, that's part and parcel of being american, practically. I honestly wish you would just say what you're feeling, because you're a friend and we respect your opinion, even if we may not agree with it. Better having heard your opinion and disagree with it than to have ya clam up, in my book. You shouldnt be ashamed of your opinions! I got taught at a relatively young age you cant take what people say to heart too much, especially if its some trivial subject.
Election time is a traditionally heavy time for this stuff, and with the world all up in a tizzy over it all, its doubly bad. With the international fuckery angle to this, it winds up involving the world since there were circular spying agreements between some countries. I'd rather move on from this stuff too, but its gotta play itself out first.
Give Red our regards!
You got two sourced explanations and one you're not american, which one was replied toThe election thread is a perfect example - i try to get a better idea of how you guys think, try to get a bit of debate going from US to EU only to receive the old "you're not American so you wouldn't understand" answer.

America is very turned inward at the moment. Going through a great upheaval
