My great uncle passed today. He was in his 80's and suffering pretty rapidly declining dementia for a few years, so it was his time. Uncle W took a bad fall at home and died within a day so I'm grateful that it ended swiftly, especially for my great aunt (my grandma's sister) who was struggling to care for him the last several months.

Such a lovely, sweet man with a really interesting life. He was forced into the German Army near the end of WWII as a young teenager. His job was to sit on top of convoy trucks and spot Allied strafing runs to yell for the troops to dive for cover. He saw some of his childhood friends who weren't quick enough diving into the ditches killed by those strafing runs. That's all he ever really said about the war, but it's interesting to meet someone who saw the other side.

After the war, he and his mother (who was widowed by the war) moved to Canada as refugees. He became a renowned physician who opened one of the country's first Palliative Care Wards. He even continued to go in to work few days a month well into his 70's. He died this afternoon in that very same palliative care ward he opened, and where is own son now works as a doc, which I think is a fitting way to go.

I don't need sympathy, it was just his time, but I think it's a cool story to share.

had a chance to watch that whole popsquad video and discuss with my friends. what absolute cringe. we arent the types to go beat him up but there's a lot of others who are, I can imagine the sick of it all guys will be mad at him for wearing their hoodie while doing this...we're more the types to laugh at him and call him an absolute dumbass, give him a little bit of weed and tell him to get lost. bottom line, he knew what he was getting himself into, and it doesnt matter that he's such an absolute beta with less than zero women skills to the point where he wouldnt say no to a woman and he's that starved for attention that's he'd go have coffee with a 14 year old. personally I dont think he would have tried to put the moves on her, but he wouldnt (couldnt) have resisted if she put the moves on him, even if it would only last 5-10 seconds of a kiss before he nutted in his pants. double facepalm he stops to get coffee on his way out, and while taking his wallet out the guys see the knife in his pocket....but they dont know he's just a knife guy and has had a collection since he was a kid.

absolute facepalm cringe...I feel bad for his mom, I worked with her a bunch of years, thankfully she's retired now and doesnt have to hear about it at work from anyone.

One of my client's clients is a large real estate investing educational business so I'm attending their all day virtual conference that my client desperately wanted me to attend to understand their client.

This shit is pretty cringey The head dude is wearing a bad 3 piece suit and has mentioned 4 times he's a millionaire and plugged his book several more times before 930am. I think most of their 'students' are highly uneducated and looking for get-rich-quick advice because this entire thing so far feels like pandering. "Just you wait ladies and gentlemen, you're going to want to stick around for our top 10 ___ list later today!!" Repeatedly saying 'ladies and gentlemen' oddly feels like a red flag.

I thought this was going to be really good but now I'm dreading the next two days. This content feels awful close to them flat out saying "Buy our 6 step system to financial freedom"

There's a track around the big dog park I take my pooch to and there are always dozens of people playing, rain or shine Some of them look like they take is super serious, dressed up like golfers and obviously being competitive. Given how hard it is to get a tee time right now, might be a fun alternative to playing golf this summer.

If you dont have any gear, they have starter packs that contain a putter and a couple midranges. They typically dont start people off with drivers because you have to have the throw down before you start throwing faster discs - if you're not snapping enough and putting enough spin on the disc, its going to tail off no matter what, but once you're snapping it well then you get more flight options. There's definitely a person or two that take their dogs out, but only recommended if they are very well behaved That's funny some dress like its actual golf! Highly recommend watching some videos from the pros!

Weighed myself today and I'm officially down just over 25 lbs. The first 15 were pretty easy but the last 10 were a lot harder. Still would like to drop about 10 more and see how I feel.
