Is amazon.com in the US feeling more and more like it's mostly fake junk these days? Amazon.ca certainly is at least...

Seems like it used to be that you'd search for something and see regular retail brands that you recognized whether it was for shirts or lightbulbs. Now it feels like the challenge is to find anything that isn't some bizarre Chinese knock-off brand with a fake American-sounding brand name and a description full of typos. I know that shit has been on there forever but I swear it's worse than ever now...

I was looking at lamps... at least 5-6 different ones all had different made-up name brands but the identical product photo. I made the mistake of clicking it, and now my social media is filled with adds for the identical product but from all sorts of different make-believe brands. What the hell is that all about. Just cheap manufacturers letting anyone drop-ship junky product under their own fake brand name I guess?

-Based off the official facebook post of the carnival company there was no news of the carnival until the 26th, the commenters are surprised the date changed from october to this sunday and people surprised that the location of the carnival was also changed

Took the kid to get her 2nd Wu Flu shot today (her choice, we didn't influence her either way to get vaccinated) and it was for the first set of appointments this morning at 8 AM. When we got there, the line was already long waiting for them to open up. Probably about 100 people there and out of all those people waiting in line outside, only myself and one other guy wasn't wearing a mask.

Played a round of glow disc golf last night, we went out at like 8-8:30. REALLY COOL!!! Had a blast, shot +12. We took turns running up the basket light, didnt work out too badly. I see really well in the dark, imo better off not shining it on the ground and keeping the night vision sharp. (All UV lights except for the basket...even those feel plenty bright, I only needed 'em to make my discs bright.) Also an interesting change playing with a limited set of discs, sometimes you just have to make something work. (Read an article the other day advocating for playing putter only rounds....you can play 'em a lot farther than you'd think, I found myself going for the putter at distances I never would have bothered dreaming of months ago...)


For the Explorer, now I've decided to rip my engine out and do the water pump & vale cover gaskets & shit while I'm at it. Rust supreme on some of those exhaust bolts, if I have to have the exhaust done later I'll cut the shit. Swayback was funny, he kept trying to convince me about disconnecting the engine, so eventually I said sure, that sounds like a great idea, but I'm just going to take the fucker right out instead of trying to maneuver things with a cunt hair's worth of room under there.
