Why do these 4 day weeks feel every bit as long, if not longer, than a regular 5 day week?

Simple math really. You see, in a normal 5 day week, on Wednesday at noon you're halfway done the week and over the hump. On a short week however, it takes until the end of Wednesday before it's halfway through the week. Thus, it takes more work to get halfway through the short week.

The caveat being the four day week begins on Tuesday with Monday off. The feeling might be different if you have a four day week beginning on Monday with the upcoming Friday off.

What is it doing?

The compressor stops running like it thinks that it has reached the temp the thermostat is set to, even though the temp in the house is warmer than the thermostat setting. We had the temp set at 74° but the temp in the house was 76° and then 77° and the compressor shit off while it was still far warmer than the setting. Not sure if it's the thermostat of the a/c unit. But, it's been 8 years since the a/c was installed, so we probably need it serviced. So we're having the HVAC company that installed our furnace a few years ago come and look at the unit. Their running an $89 tune up special right now, so we'll see what they have to say.

Damn NYC is hot and shitty and so unbelievably full of cars its ridiculous. I'm soooooooooo glad my buddy bought a house in PA and is moving away from that shithole and I wont have to go deal with 9 bazillion cars and averaging speeds of about 2.5mph for extended periods of time. There's simply not enough road for the amount of cars. Took me almost an hour and a half to go from Staten to the GW yesterday, but then I placed a call to our lady of blessed acceleration and made it home from there in an hour & 20.

I've called an audible today. After working 39hrs over weekend, I'm taking the rest of today off, unless there's actual emergency. Bad part is I was scheduled to take new work truck in to get a service body installed. I'll do it tomorrow.

On a funny note, my wife relayed this to me. Her and mt 26yo niece are coming to visit me for the week. Last night she told niece they needed to be up by 06:00, and on the road by 07:00. My niece, who has never, ever been a morning person exclaimed "Good lord, why?" Wufe told he its because of 8hr drive to get from home to here. My niece then said, "but he's not in a different state!"

That's a good example of how big Texas and the US as a whole actually is. We get a lot of international kids here every year to work and they sometimes have a hard time grasping how you could drive for days and still be in the same country.
