Back from camping this weekend. Went pretty far out in the back country, way down an old forest service road up in Squamish (not far from Whistler BC), but there were still dozens of campers out there by the rivers and lakes.

We have a campfire ban on now because of how dry and hot its been... I saw several people still having campfires, knowing they won't get caught that far out of town. Really disappointing to see. This is why when things get really dry, they actually close down the provincial and national parks and service roads. Everyone thinks the rules don't apply to them. Camping without a fire isn't the best, but we strung up little LED lights and flameless candles and still had a blast just watching the stars. No need to risk burning the place down when the sun is up until almost 10pm anyways.

Fuckers ruin it for the rest of us.

That is frustrating to see. if anybody tried that in Australia they would be hung out to dry. All it takes is one spark...

So, wife informed me she want my daughter to move out to the studio. Last night I brought an amp and guitar into the house, after about 30 mins, dogs and cats all hiding in the bedroom, the wife agreed I could buy another building for a new studio. Crazy like a fox...lol

P.s. There's a tonne of prefab cabins online nowadays. I've been casually looking for something for our bush property

Yeah, it'll be a prefab shell (not finished on inside) . Found a perfect one 14'x24' for $7k. But, it had a Sold sign on it already. Ill go talk to the folks at the sales office tomorrow and see if theres another one available. I don't really need one 24' long, but wife wants me to build in a closet to store the Christmas decorations and a bit of other stuff. Ill be happy to get it out of my garage/shop, so I won't mind giving up 8' or so.

Well, wife has some medical issues. Generally she's fine, but a few times a month she needs help. Youngest daughter is on the spectrum, and even at 25, isn't really able to totally be on her own, thus they take care of each other, especially since I'm gone half the year. The studio was ormy father in laws. It was bought by him via us when he was no longer able to care for himself. A couple of years after he passed,, we remodeled it,, and it became my studio/guesthouse.
The wife/daughter situation is that they tend to argue a lot, so it'll be better for daughter to move out there. I haven't totally settled on a building for myself yet, but likely something in that size, and under $10k.

Pony, funnily enough, after the first of the year, I plan to buy a used tractor with a bucket loader to start building up dirt to put a small home on for my mother. It'll have to have its own septic and electric though. My well can supply all water needs.
