I have a medical device via prescription. Unfortunately, the company the doctor's office ordered it from is a non-PPO with my insurance. The EOB for the device came today, and the insurance company is telling me that I owe the non-PPO $13,000 for the device. Say what?!
I looked around online for the device and I can get it at several websites for less than $2000, shipping included.
The medical industry is so fucking whacked.

Took a nasty elbow in the ribs in hockey the other night... two days later it seems worse. Sucks. There's basically nothing you can do for a rib injury except try not to sneeze. Not even worth getting an x-ray I don't think, can't see what difference knowing if somethings cracked or just bruised makes.

i broke two ribs a few years ago taking a nasty spill on my way to the mailbox, there really wasn't anything they could do even knowing they were broken.

haha busted up ribs fuckin SUCK. I dislocated a few of mine a few years ago. Sleeping sucked, coughing sucked, sneezing sucked, laughing sucked, moving sucked, driving over bumps sucked. The worst bit was, 90% of the time it was like nothing was wrong and then BAM it felt like some fucker stabbed you. I don't ever want to damage my ribs again
