The new USFL that kicks off in a couple of months is playing all the games (except the playoffs) in Birmingham, Alabama Why bother having cities attached to the teams if they aren't playing in the city they represent?

It took a lot of digging, but I did find a source that said the league is claiming that travel is too expensive for a brand new league with no revenue. All they care right now is about being on TV (both FOX and NBC are carrying the games) and getting the gamblers interested in gambling on more football. They don't even care about the stadium being filled. It later stated that if the league does survive and generate revenue, then eventually the teams will actually start to play games in their home cities.

Someone posted on my local Nextdoor - she said they went to Costco to stock up and bought $700 worth of meat. Somehow, their freezer got turned off, she says by either her dog or her toddler. So this caused most of the meat to thaw out and be spoiled by the time they realized it (about $400 worth according to her). She's asking on Nextdoor if she should go to Costco and ask them to replace the meat. She's asking because she's sure her husband is wrong (he says that they should just eat the loss and move on), but she wants to be right and get Costco to replace the meat for them.

Yes, yes, Costco is going to replace at no cost, $400 worth of food because your freezer got turned off. Completely Costco's fault.

Almost all the replies in the thread are telling her that she's nuts and her husband is right.

I went to check the thread this morning and she deleted it. I don't think the responses were going the way she wanted

I've never really seen that mentioned on the list of top food cities in the US. Might have to check it out sometime.
