Was it? I lose track of days when I'm off. I'm honestly surprised I haven't missed the right day to travel back to work.
Hey fellas, hope everyone is doing well!
Back from a busy week and a half. Had a wedding Saturday before last, then got up at 4am on Sunday (ouch) to fly to Austin with my wife for a vacation.
Friday, still on our trip, I started feeling just wiped and not good. A bunch of people at the wedding (12/70 total!) were testing positive for covid so I had a feeling. We did a couple of rapid tests and they came back negative but we flew home a day early anyways because I was coming down with something and didn't want to wait another day to travel. Turned out to be a good call because Saturday I woke up full blown sick and both of us tested positive. I've been laid out on the couch the last few days. Basically it's just been a bad cold/flu, except way more tired than a cold, and I can't smell or taste. My wife felt crummy just for a day and then was fine, it's odd how it hit us so differently. Honestly it's a relief to have it over with. We had covid in October too (also after a wedding) but I presume this time was omicron which everyone is just going to get seeing how easily it spreads.
Feeling better now except taste/smell. That's been a drag but on the plus I haven't had junk food or booze in almost a week since it's no fun to eat!
Anyways, didn't ruin the trip, still had a great time. Austin is a cool city, good shopping, great weather, unreal food everywhere you go and way better nightlife than Vancouver. Not sure I'd go back, once is enough with so many other places on my bucket list, but it's a cool spot all the same.

Heading out tomoto San Antonio to visit my youngest daughter, then leave from there Tues to go back to work in Odessa. Its been an eventful days off. Finally got to hang out in person with my best buddy. Haven't seen him in person since pre covid. He has lung issues, so we've been careful to not expose him unnecessarily.
Oh, and will be first long road trip in New car.
