Well, with the way prices of everything steadily going up, it's looking like the planned vacation for me and the wife might get postponed or outrighted canceled.

Stay in hostels

We do AirBNB or VRBO and you can save a lot by not using a hotel, especially if you have a couple that wants to go and you can split a house

Going to get the passports taken care of today. Even if we do need to cancel/postpone the vacay, at least we'll have the passports taken care of. Especially since I didn't realize that getting appointments for them was such a pain in the ass.

Well that was fun. I got my passport application submitted fine, but they wouldn't take the wife's. Her Indiana birth certificate doesn't show 'sex' on it and the clerk at the Post Office said that the State Department wouldn't accept it as valid because it's "incomplete". Mine was easy because I had my really old expired passport, so no issue with my stuff.

But of course she was all upset over it and made me feel like it was all my fault
