Got the estimate back from the shop on the wife's SUV. Just a tick over $5500 and since we're having to pay for it because the bitch had no insurance, we have a $500 deductible to pay towards it.

Ya I was going to say, at least up here if you're hit by someone uninsured (or a hit and run for that matter) your own insurance should cover it (unfortunately you still pay your own deductible in these cases) and then the insurer indemnifies you, and can look to subrogate on your behalf. In other words they step into your legal/financial position and go after the uninsured party and try and get your and their money back. Subrogation is often unsuccessful, but at least you're usually only out your deductible. If they do get any money back, they should probably be paying you back a proportional amount of your deductible. Ie if they can recover 50% of the total claim cost, you might get back 50% of your deductible as your deductible is the portion of insurance that you assume yourself - that part could vary though so don't quote me.

A couple years ago I asked for a $5 bump, got $4. Plus last year I got a End of season bonus, $1 for every hour worked.

Also the boss surprised me a few weeks ago by showing up and stuffing an envelope in my hand and thanked me for everything I do. It was $650 bucks.

Supposedly, my raise has been approved, just going through HR and sign offs. Manager won't tell me how much it is.

He's also hinting at promoting me to foreman. Not sure id want that posits base pay isn't much more than I make now (but there'd be overtime). Main sticking point is it requires moving to Odessa. Wifehas already said she won't move, but she'd come visit a week or so each month. That's not really much different than now.
