They finally dropped the last mask mandate here in my province, which applied only to hospitals. I had a look at the local subreddit and it's hilarious how pissed some people are. Awfully ironic for the same folks who stood on their balconies and clapped for healthcare workers every night just a year ago. Do they have any idea how fucking taxing it is on a person to come home from a 24 hour shift after having to wear a mask even if they're at a desk or hallways nowhere near a patient, walking 20,000 steps a day, coming home dehydrated, sore ears, bruised nose, face full of zits and not seeing their coworkers smile for three fucking years? If you want to wear a mask fine, hell if you want your doctor to for your exam they absolutely will. Doctors wore masks before the pandemic when it made sense in surgery or around patients on droplet protocols anyways, but expecting healthcare workers to be robots who comply with this rule full time, indefinitely because you're afraid of a cold you're vaccinated for... all while you can go to a nightclub packed to the gills is just laughable... I don't even know why I read the comments on reddit, bunch of terrified Karens

Unfortunately, several healthcare providers here are still requiring masks. A few are getting rid of it starting next month, but not all of them yet.

Mostly just a quiet one, played a round of golf (shot my best score ever!), saw some friends, took pooch on a few good adventures and had a nice family Easter din at my folks' place. I was a bad boy and didn't go to church with my dad like I usually do... but mass ended up running 3 hours so I'm not too sorry

I was doing a little of that last week. New PC, Printer and timeclock with software. The biggest issue is that A: She kept needing to use the PC I was replacing. and B: My phone kept ringing pulling me away.

Still have to figure out why I cant wifi connect to the time clock. Think I may need to open a port on the router (which I don't have the password for) and is in nearly continuous use.

Had issues with getting the time clock connected to the new PC here as well. But my issue is that the time clock is so old, it uses a USB emulator to connect and I had all kinds of problems getting it to work. Luckily the people at the company that made the clock and the software were able to help me get it done.

Also switching email server providers this morning just because I don't have enough headaches today.

Well, I pushed the button to reset the router to factory because I didn't know the admin login. Basically disconnected everything in the office, then realized logging into 192.168.0.1 was throwing an error message and would not let me login to the router because of a "public" connection.

Took me an hour to figure that out just to get the wifi back up. Turns out it's showing the clock as ok in the router but the software still cannot connect. Fiddled with settings for another hour, confirmed everything is exactly as it should be before just saying fuckit and running a temporary ethernet cable from the timeclock to the router.
Still had to configure the IP and settings in the software to make that work.

BTW, stick with that old time clock as long as you can. 99% of the ones out there all have some fancy features, phone apps, etc but are almost all monthly subscription based, for 100 users it can run hundreds a month. We finally found one with no contracts but it was $400 bucks PLUS another $150 to upgrade to 100 users. AND has none of the fancy stuff. ONE PC, One admin, etc. Just a basic thumbprint clock.
