... there was this guy not 40 minutes ago in the ditch behind my house, wearing a red hoodie just kind of hanging around. I didn't see his face and I guess he saw me watching him because he didn't stick around. Now the ditch technically isn't my property, but it is right behind my backyard and I didn't like the look of a guy hanging around just off of my backyard wearing a hoodie in 92°F weather.

Our house has an alley behind, no fence and then a park.A school is about 200 meters away.
Every night I seem to see undesirables lurking in the alley, park and school parking lot.
Just last week 2 houses beside me got broken into and our garage door was kicked in at the bottom...about 1/2 inch from being opened by force.
DGX....go right on out there and do something innocuous.I find that once the dudes know that they're being watched, they tend to split.

You can borrow my shotgun if you want. Rat shot would do the trick, but Pony's idea isn't bad and you could throw out some firecrackers and go outside and start acting freaky at the same time and the hoodie guy will likely split.
