If we're being fair and honest, then technically, she's right. Even Scalia said in 2010 that the equal protection clause of the 14th amendment didn't apply to women. Back when the antislavery amendments were written, it was custom that women weren't equal to men, couldn't be landowners, or do or own most things that we commonly accept women doing or owning today, so the former slaves that the amendments referred to were all men.Originally Posted by Teh One Who Knocks
However, if today's women can own land, work in any job, serve in the military, serve in Congress, sit on the bench from the local courts all the way up to the Supreme Court, and run for the office of the President of the USA, then an equal rights amendment is a formality.

all we can do is control pollution. (which does not include co2 in any sane realistic assessment, any assessment that focuses on it should be immediately ignored and discarded.) we cant do jack shit about actual, real climate change, ya know, the real changes, induced by the sun & assorted galactic influences.
