My thoughts:
Am I wrong in assuming that he goes to work and pays the bills? All it mentions is that she's a stay-at-home mom. And what he's doing isn't incompetence. We could call it being a jerk, but that's not exactly the same as incompetence. Incompetence is the inability to do something successfully. He's not unable to do whatever she's asking him to do, he's just refusing to do it. Basically, he sounds like an asshole, but all we have to go on is her version of events printed in this article.
