I'm seriously considering cancelling my cable and just watching the few shows remaining that I like online. I'm already doing that with a number of premium cable shows like True Blood.

Fuckers here just added $30 for the pay-per HD services. I told them I don't want it as I never use the service. They said it's mandatory for the DVR and the "free" HD channels. It's up to about $150 a month for cable and internet.
