13-year-old boy charged in rape of 8-year-old girl

WILMINGTON, Del. — An investigation into the rape of an 8-year-old Delaware girl last month has led to the arrest of a 13-year-old boy, town police said Friday.

Harrington police were contacted Aug. 23 by the state Division of Family Services about the sexual assault that occurred at a home, said Lt. Earl Brode. The victim could not provide an exact date for the incident.

Detectives and Child Advocacy Center investigators talked to the girl and learned she had been raped by the teen on one occasion, Brode said. The boy showed her pornographic videos and touched her private parts, according to court records.

The victim told investigators "she did not have any clothes on" and was sitting in the boy's lap when the sex act occurred, police said in court records.

The teen surrendered to police with a guardian, and was committed to a juvenile detention center in Milford on one count of second-degree rape. He is being held in lieu of $5,000 secured bail, Brode said.

(of course 13/8 is not 8/8...and I aint condoning such behavior in the least....but the verbiage....ugh...)
