Out of curiosity...

How many of you are actually prepared for a disaster? Now, when I mean "prepared", I don't mean just guns and ammunition, although they certainly are a factor in survival in the face of a breakdown of society.

Looking around my place, I can tell you that I probably am not ready at all. I doubt I have enough water in the event the system broke down, or non-perishable food to tide me over for that matter. Although I'm probably in a good location to hunker down for a while.

I guess I would be for a few days, but long term definitely not.

There are some things I should actually invest in....candles, battery powered lantern, battery powered radio, more canned and non-perishable food.

About the only thing I have is 10 gallons of fresh water on hand

I think if anything major was to happen, I would probably gather as much stuff as I could and get away from the city and head into the mountains

I think Costco sells emergency kits that are good for like 2 weeks per person and store for a year or two.

You know, I was only half joking about the being well armed thing. If it was something REALLY bad, I will be very happy to know that I will be fully able to defend myself if needed.
