It's not like it has never given false warnings... and I think it even provides a clickable where you can see when there was the last reported incident. Anyway...maybe some ads contained some shit, I don't know, cuz I never had any issues. One of the reasons I no longer visit there, is all the threads are dead. Nearly all contain links to Simply Random pics.. Which are all dead.
The reason I no longer post there is the treatment I got when it went down, No warnings. I lost alot of material on the SR server that I never had the chance to retrieve due to a lack of warning. And the farewell thread I started (to say goodbyes to peeps, thanks for all the fish, n all that. Before I even knew about this place) was deleted by the mods without warning.
As far as I was concerned that was the last straw. AS was HUGE, and not just in size, but in character. I've logged on a few times since to get PM's from a few people and the folks that made it huge don't post there any more. Sad times for BJ.

in their defence, something fucked, everyone's posts, PMs, everything disappeared. I even got back PMs I'd deletedit was as if the entire week or however long it was open never happened
as hugh said i got things back i even knew SR was going to be turned on for a weekend via facebook and BJ's because i checked so there were warnings ,just saying
The malware warnings Hal was speaking of were the downfall. Google got a hold of the info and DM couldn't get it sorted with them. He was deleteing all kinds of stuff to try to correct it, but it would continue to throw false positives.
The problem was, they looked and acted like true positives!
it's also happened since BJ's has been running i reported a thread and saulty killed a few pics to sort it out ,i didn't think it would be fair to watch the new site fall like AS did
I saw the warning in chrome as well, but never had a negative affect on my system. Even after he shut down a bunch of sections, where he thought the issue could have been, he couldnt get off googles list of untrusted sites. Thats why he put everything on a new domain, but somehow the problems came back.
As far as the technical infrastructure goes, Brokenjam works fine now, all it does is have a little lag some times because dm let go of the proprietary server and now it's co-hosted with a few other small and midsize places, apparently. The only malware warnings we got after the move to the new domain concerned dodgy picture hosts and ads from a place that dm doesn't use anymore. So it should be safe to go there again.
The real bitch is the lack of activity, I think between the malware scare and the lack of porn, most people can't be bothered anymore. But to a certain degree that's OK cause dm doesn't want to do anything but keep a meeting place for old times' sake, he's not interested in expansion. At any rate the basement and the unmentionables are still there.
As for the end of AS, I regret it had to go that way, but it's water under the bridge by now. Maybe someone was out to get us and managed to sneak the malware in, maybe it was a random thing, who knows? Truth be told we had been going downhill slowly since the first pornocaust, so at the end of the day I'm happy that I got the chance to be there while it was great and that's the end of it. I'll keep checking in as long as it exists and if dm ever resolves to try something new, I'm willing to chip in. In the meantime, I like it here and since most of my former AS fellows chose to strike up tent here, it's as comfy an exile as they come.
There are so many dodgy pic hosts out now that will silently install crap, it's almost impossible to sort out where the issues coming from, especially in a place as loaded with pics as AS was. I know a few other places that are constantly battling bad pic hosts and the never ending nasty shit that gets snuck in with the ad hosts.

rather than mocking AS i think it's best to remember that it was that site which bought many of us together,and i feel that BJ's is slower because everyone is looking for the porn which is now something it doesn't offer as it's not as big as AS was so i don't think it's right to compare the 2 ,even DM said he wanted a smaller site , as for the question of are any more mods going to join up ,i'm sure this site's link has been talked about in their mod area (am i right BJ mods? :winkso they may have their reasons on not joining but are more than welcome just like the ones we have on board already , which can i say it's nice having you guys here

AS was awesome and put us all in the same boat to begin with, although clearly there is more action around here nowadays, that's why i am here much moreagreed
i pop back over once or twice a week, usualy to update my rally thread. but its not gettign anywhere near the traffic it used to, probably due to the lack of pron as red said. so things are almost at a stop.
looks to me like those who were highly active have either moved over to here or found a new home in the time it was down.
its sad, but folks come and go all the time, mostly only the unstable ones hang around long enough to be called family
