I didn't see the game, but from what I have heard/read, Seattle had the ball on the 1 yard line and that's all they needed to score the go ahead TD and win the game. Their running back (Lynch) was already over 100 yards rushing for the game and he was averaging more than 4 yards per carry. So what does the coach of Seattle call to run? He calls for a pass play.

Ah, so they could have easily ran the ball over and scored but decided to try something fancy and fucked it up Pass interception then Pats go up the park and score? Go Patriots!

and Goof they set up in the shotgun formation, which puts the quarterback back another 3 yards back from the point they start

they had to move the ball 36 inches to win the game....and like Lance mentioned, they tried to throw a pass rather than surge forward and give it to a beefy guy who could of fallen over the required distance..

Shouldn't the QB have just disregarded the stupid call then? What's it, call an audible or something? Was it last down? (can't remember how many downs you get before turnover ).

Absolutely right, but the Pats were already ahead. That pass play basically ended the game.

It was 2nd down I believe, so they had 3 tries to score from the 1 at that point before they ran that play.

Wow, that's just crazy then So they could have "rushed" twice to try and get over then used the pass or a kick on the last down.......... maybe i should be an NFL coach, i seem to have a better understanding of the game than the Seattle coach

I think his reasoning was that all eyes would have been on beast mode (well, except for all those Pats Ds covering their guys )

At least we didn't have to listen to Chris Collinsworthless incoherently babble for 4 hours.

"They have completed 1000% of the passes thrown to him". Really. So they completed 10 times as many passes as they threw, Chris? fucking moron.
