If the phone arrived fucked up, then it's on them for not insuring it.

Yep. In that case you should have literally been allowed to hand the phone to the courier and they could of handled the packaging end of it. It's a remote pick up created by the cosignee (Samsung) so all transportation and insurance implications are on them
