Russian officials ‘given 400-page book of Putin quotes as New Year gift’

Try not to feel too jealous of officials across Russia.
They’ve reportedly been handed a 400-page book of ‘prophetic’ quotes by President Vladimir Putin as a New Year gift.
Business newspaper RBK reports that as many as 1,000 officials received a copy of Words That Change the World, a book that should, according to one of Putin’s top aides, be treated as a guide to the Kremlin’s ‘values and guiding principles.’
Vyacheslav Volodin calls it ‘required reading for any politician.’
Inside the collection is the text from 19 speeches and key quotes which ‘predicted and preordained’ world events are highlighted.
Pro-Kremlin youth movement Network edited and published the book, the BBC reports.
‘We noticed that everything Putin says to some extent comes true,’ said member Anton Volodin.
‘Putin’s words can be described as prophetic.’
The Kremlin itself is remaining tight-lipped. Mr Putin’s official spokesman said he hadn’t heard anything about the book.
But it’s not exactly out of the ordinary for such a book to be released. Earlier this December a Putin-themed calendar was released.
