As it turns out, Lee is the giver of life
I wanted to be a Monk, but I never got the chants.
The success or failure of your deeds, does not add up to the sum of your life. Your spirit cannot be weighed. Judge yourself by the intentions of your actions, and by the strength with which you faced the challenges that have stood in your way. The Universe is vast and we are so small. There is really only one thing we can ever truly control... whether we are good or evil.
".....what you are and what you do is your religion."
Jimi Hendrix
Sage Words.
I tend along the lines of a Taoist pseudo-Paganism Agnostic Goddamn Hippie Fuck.
That is, I trust in science to seek explanation for the world. I believe there may be a certain spirituality in nature, but not necessarily in any particular form that organized religion tries to feed me.
That is, I will not rule out that something (or nee, someone) may have created the universe. Science is unable to rule that out. Yet at the same time I don't believe that whatever it could be, is necessarily in a form that we understand, nor are we able to properly interpret any teachings beyond perhaps "live well among others".
Anything past that, particularly of a judgmental nature seems to fly in the face of the core belief that we are "lesser" than our divine being of choice, unworthy of questioning their authority, and yet wielding that same authority as a gigantic bat against the heretics. Those interpretations seem to be purely bent towards victory of one religion over another. Something that seems more befitting the old Greek, Roman, or Egyptian Gods, rather than any current one.
Made all the more maddening because of the relationship between the Quran, the Torah, and the Old Testament, and yet here we are trying to blow each other to smithereens over the differences. It's like people knocking each other out of the stands over whether the Canucks road or home jersey is superior.
I see girls like Keyra Augustina and believe in divine providence
The spark of life is what fascinates me...touching on Wy's post, creation or the energy of certain organic entities just didn't 'start up' one day.
I also don't believe that the Earth is 4000 thousand years old or that dinosaurs didn't exist...and I don't believe the evolution of Earth and man happened in 6 days....
Life came from somewhere and I don't buy we're the only organism on this planet to evolve leaps and bounds over all other life forms....whether it be aliens or God intervening.
I believe in...........different things than most
I'm with Nietzsche on this one.
I judge myself by my very own low standards, therefore I always excel at everything.Judge yourself by the intentions of your actions, and by the strength with which you faced the challenges that have stood in your way. The Universe is vast and we are so small. There is really only one thing we can ever truly control... whether we are good or evil.
I am second only too Charlie Sheen at winning.
