My desktop (just the tower) cost around £300......... although i did swap out the hd for a samsung ssd, the laptop was closer to £600 (17", Intel I7, 8gb ram, 256gb samsung evo ssd), spec'd and bought both from https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/, really good service tbf

Pfffffft....my desktop at home is old and I didn't spend nearly that much on it and it's not that far off from your score

I'll check it when I get home, but if I remember right, my old creaky desktop has a score of 7.3

Those extra few points are HARD to get. Ive never seen a 7.9 ever but from what i've been told it is possible. But the jump from a 7.7 to 7.8 is real difficult.
