Rangers fan wins free season tickets after hitting home run at Globe Life Park
The Rangers held a contest Saturday morning for prospective season ticket holders to win their 2016 tickets for free. All they had to do? Hit a home run at Globe Life Park.
As unlikely as that seemed, it looks like we have a winner. The winner, Byron Anderson, posted a video of himself hitting the homer on his Facebook page. He got it with his third and final swing.
Sweet swing! Anderson said entering the contest was a "$2,000 bet on me" and that bet sure did pay off. The Rangers tweeted out congratulations to Anderson:
Twenty people took part in the event. Anderson, batting against a pitching machine with a wooden bat, hit the lone home run, sending a ball into section 8 of the lower reserved seats. The Rangers upgraded his original half season plan from two seats in the Lexus Club Terrace to four seats in the Lexus Club Box, giving him $8,500 in free season tickets.
