Just a little test run in Mexico. This is as I was slowing down after I confirmed that yes, the ECM does limit the car to 155mph. Not sure why GM would do that but pit W (168+ mph) rated tires and Brembo brakes on it...lol. Will be taken care of after tune.

Yeah....it's kind of a joke the street races use. I didn't really cross into Mexico, lol

Won't be doing hypertech or any other handheld. Custom street and dtno tune using HP tuners software. Tune and go fast stuff not going on until warranty is up. Just rolled 10,000 miles on way home yesterday. Bought it in Nov with 47 miles new

Hypertech will do away with the rev limiter and add some timing and a possibly a few other things and it wont void the warranty.

Jay, nothing wrong with hypertech, if I was planning to stay somewhat stock, wouldn't be a bad way to go. I've used their product before. Currently I have my throttle body out for porting, next up is porting intake, (or a Fast LSx), headers, Mast Black Label heads, and a custom Cam Motion LLR solid roller cam. (Along with othet supportin mods) Shooting for 400 lb ft at 2500rpm, peak tq at 4800-5000 rpm, with peak at 450ish...rear wheel of course. Dyno # don't really matter, what I'm looking for is much more lower rpm tq, with a flat curve, and 2000 to 2500 range on the curve. Get the tq controlled, and hp will take care of itself, lol so, box type stuff won't work for what I want. It would be easier (and cheaper) to go supercharged or turbo, but, I want N/A...no heat sink on the track...

Hugh, thanks...means a lot to me. I really wanted the dark blue 1LE, but dealership made me too good of a deal on this one, and besides, my 68, and my 99 were both black.....When my oldest daughter saw the 15, she played "Back in Black" for me, lol

As my enthusiast friends say "it's the butt dyno that's most important" (ie the way it feels).

Forget the 60's being the golden age of Horsepower - I think we're living it now.

I agree, 60s were awesome for the time, and some gorgeous cars came out, but for sheer performance, the modern Era can't be beat...
