I have a long story about a flight my niece and I took. It was short, coming back here from the west coast...about 1.5 hours in the air. I'll summarize:

Niece drinks 2 liters of iced tea in airport. Do you have to go? No Uncle hal, I'm fine.
Plane takes off, seatbelt sign stays on and niece needs to pee.
Seatbelt sign still on after 15 minutes, captain's voice comes on.
We're going to travel through some turbulence, please don't get out of your seats.
I would like to inform you that John, who has been a co-pilot for three years, is acting captain for his first flight tonight.
Also, please congratulate John as his wife is currently in a Calgary hospital, having their first baby right now, way to go John!
*plane really gets bumpy* *Niece is crossing her legs* Uncle hal I really have to go! Sorry hun, we have to wait until the sign goes off.
Flight attendant starts rolling the drink and snack cart down the aisle, we hit a huge pocket of air and the plane lurches.
Flight attendant leans over and whispers to me - Sir, can you hang on to the trolley while I sit down here? I say sure.
Flight attendant sits down cross-legged, right in the aisle. Me holding cart while plane bounces around.
Niece and I watch the news on the seatback TV, seven twisters are in Oklahoma. SEVEN Niece is really squirming now, she has to go.
Finally the turbulence subsides, seatbelt light goes off and Niece vaults from her seat towards the bathroom. Comes back, everything is A-OK.
We approach the Calgary airport and it feels like we're coming in too fast and too steep. I don't fly much, but have made this same trip four times in two years.
I remember: Pilot is on his first flight. Pilot's wife is in hospital right now, calving his very first baby. Turbulence was bad for almost an hour, the poor guy must be crapping bricks.
We're coming in hot. I'm imagining an aircraft carrier with jets splashing into the hard deck like bugs.
I look at my Niece. I love you Niece. I love you too Uncle hal. We hold hands because I need the support.
As we disembark, flight attendant thanks me, I ask her to give the new pilot my best, and I thank God internally

the Oklahoma twister gif reminded me of it because I wanted to watch something on the airplane to distract my Niece. Then twisters and seven hells are shown as we're going through some stormy shit

*it was dramatic, but not horrible. I do recall hearing a certain groaning or creaking noise the plane was making at times...for some reason, that freaked me out more than the dips and shudders.
