Yeah, I get the alternate universe thing being a plot device, but people are saying she's supposed to be from that same exact alternate reality as the one in the TOS episode.

Now come on, they had to make like 495730956734908657340659734908 jumps with their stupid spore drive to get to that particular parallel universe and on TOS it was a transporter malfunction during a magnetic storm that caused them to end up in that universe. What are those odds that it could happen?

The odds are 1-1. The Discovery writers are so bereft of imagination that they have to steal old plot lines and actual characters from the originating series.
