I'll listen to a podcast about the show because the site I go to remains even handed with most things. The guy who runs it knows a lot about neutrality = longevity. He's name-checked me on podcasts from either a comment or question I've made, so I try to do the same without becoming one of these frothing at the mouth commentators on the internet. If it's bad I say so politely and put my reasons down, if it's good I usually..., ....well it hasn't been good yet so we'll cross that bridge when we come to it

I was half and half on the recent episode. Some heinous things and some interesting things.

Noticing when they let Pike be Pike-like, the show improves 100%.

Some good action sequences, great effects and a plot so weak I wonder if it was take your kid to work day in the writer's room...for the entire season!

Some of Pike being Pike on the shuttle was cool, but I didn't like some of what happened on there. Like the probe that they launched that came back from the future....and punctured holes in the hull of the shuttle yet it didn't depressurize and lose all the oxygen?

And the whole Stamets can find them using the Mycelial network thing, just stop.

And did you see the inside of Sarek and Amanda's house? THere's no way a Vulcan would live so luxuriously and have all kinds of fancy stuff. And how Sarek was all "we need to give Spock to Star Fleet, it's all about Star Fleet". I guess all that about Sarek hating the militaristic stance of Star Fleet in TOS was all an illusion or something

Speaking of plot twists do you remember the woman Admiral who I think was captured along with Lorca by the Klingons? Didn't Lorca just leave her somewhere for dead last season and we never saw her again?

She was just on a couple of episodes ago like nothing happened. I think she was in a scene with the Section 31 people
