TNG had a weird episode where they were disguised or even invisible on a planet. Could of been one of the movie plots. I think Picard had a love interest during the episode and revealed the truth about where they came from.


It happens but this save the planet, reveal yourselves and your future tech is kinda like the poster for what NOT to do regarding general order one


And yes, I've been seeing reviews saying - It's really good, just like old school Star Trek. Burnham is a new hero in the same league as Kirk and Picard.

What's old Star Trek to them....last season of Discovery ffs??

Yeah, this is NOTHING like old school Trek, it doesn't resemble any of the prior series in any way. And the more they keep writing, the more holes they keep opening. This whole Burnham is Spock's sister thing is just one ginormous clusterfuck. And now we're supposed to believe that Spock is in a mental hospital?


And yeah, just casually leaving advanced tech behind with a society that lives like the Amish is ridiculous.

Another problem is I think the lead actress isn't a very good actor. She was okay on The Walking Dead but if you watch her closely on Star Trek, she looks at everyone with a wide eyed stare and is pretty monotone. I find her bad acting distracting.

Missed this post. I've seen people in comments sections praising her and how great an actress she is. I fully agree with you, she has no charisma at all, yet they try and compare her to Kirk and Picard

And what about Tilly? She's an ensign and yet they put her in charge of the most important system in the ship, the freaky mushroom engines?

Not to mention giving her the tiny project of corralling a huge asteroid in the shuttle bay??

Yeah, I find it hard to believe she's in that Command Training Program or whatever they call it, but she's only an ensign? Wouldn't that be reserved for officers?

Yeah, she violates like every safety protocol trying to get that sample PLUS disobeying Saru's orders. Seems like insubordination is encouraged and appreciated on the Discovery FFS.

It's just like when Sarek tells Burnham that he was hoping she would teach Spock empathy? Huh? His mother was the for that and all the canon dealing with Sarek up until now was that he wanted Spock to embrace being Vulcan, not his half human side.
