W the bloody F? why...why the entire plotline?

In a series full of asinine story lines, this has to be right up there near the top. I have no idea what the point of this whole arc is and I really don't think I wanna know.

Before Spock allegedly killed people he was seeing a god like figure and drawing it. At one point, Burnham did something so bad to Spock after that he never spoke to her again for a lifetime.

A human step sister did something soooo bad to Spock he never spoke to her again, because all Vulcans seeking enlightenment through logic get pissy and estranged

Yeah, NONE of this makes any sense, like you said, they are retroactively ruining the character. NONE of anything they have said or done is anything like what we know of Spock, ever.

Yes, the age old title of Klingon High Chancellor is now mother, because all male Klingons are really gonna get onboard with that one

And yes, the former Emperor now working in the never before mentioned black ops section of Star Fleet. Not to mention that the guy who appeared to be in charge on the ship looked like some bad guy character from any TV drama going on now or the last 20 years.

You know it's going to develop into something even MORE asinine.

It's a shame this series is such a train wreck because I do like Pike (for the most part). Anson Mount plays him perfectly and he's the ONLY character that feels like he was written like a character from TOS.

They've already tarnished the whole Spock character already (and we haven't even seen him yet) so nothing at this point will surprise me anymore. I have no idea how these people running this show still claim this show is following cannon AND takes place in the same timeline as TOS when they are visibly pissing on everything that preceded it.

I stopped posting and viewing posts at my recap spot for TV. Too many of the - This is just like old Trek! This is how it's supposed to be! This feels totally old school!

Because I know what will follow and I don't have the daily energy to explain how effed up this show has become when compared to any old Trek.

I know you haven't watched much of the TNG, but at least that show fell into a good rhythm of exploring some of the older ideas and keeping things pretty much on track.

I know you haven't watched much of the TNG, but at least that show fell into a good rhythm of exploring some of the older ideas and keeping things pretty much on track.

I've noticed that on a lot of recap sites. Either these people have never watched a minute of TOS and/or TNG or they are just too ignorant to realize that this show is NOTHING like Star Trek ever was.
