Hey Lance have you been to the doc and got your blood work done yet? Curious about the cholesterol and hope you did okay
Why the shot again?
And talk about a scam. When we go they do the cursory exam, BP, throat, heart rate, finger up da butt and they give us the bloodwork request on the way out. Then if there's issues with bloodwork, pee etc they call you back in for a follow up. If nothing shows from the tests, no phone call back
It's the first time I've been to the doctor (not including Urgent Care for illness), so they require an initial visit, basically like a meet and greet with your doctor. You need to schedule a different appointment for the physical. Plus, to be able to draw blood you need to fast for 12 or 24 hours or something like that, so I wasn't even prepared for that. The shot was a tetanus/whooping cough booster since it had been so long since my last one.
I had my first physical at my initial meet and greet which took me off guard. My doc is pretty efficient in terms of visits needed.
You only need to fast if there's a suspected sugar issue like diabetes. Up here anyway they have a 'normal' blood sugar test where you don't need to fast beforehand. If it detects a problem then they send you for the fasting ones later.
I had a kidney and bladder ultrasound where I couldn't drink water or pee for hours before it and then drink about a liter at the test, do an image, then pee and do another image.
It was worse than fasting for any amount of time
