I used to work beside a hockey rink/very small hole in the wall lounge. The lounge probably served five people during the day and had two VLT machines.
They made a huge, fucking delicious burger by hand. Greasy, covered in mushrooms and bacon, some nasty sauce they created topped with huge hunks of cheddar cheese.
They were so good I used to eat one for lunch and then get another to take home that night for dinner

There's a certain old timey near the harbor motif going on in these pictures, especially the first one...that I knew I couldn't describe correctly
I've never used a meat thermometer but isn't meat supposed to be at least 160 in the center?
That's mostly for chicken and pork. Although it really comes down to where you buy the meat from and how it has been handled (except chicken, that should always be cooked to the proper temp). I like my pork chops closer to medium rare than medium (and definitely NOT medium well or well done). So that's probably closer to like 145° on pork. I've never been sick from it.
Beef you can eat raw if it's handled properly.
