I smoked for for close on 40 years before quitting nearly 14 years ago.
My last choice of smoke was RYO tobacco "Old Holborn"
When I started smoking this brand it was costing me about $1.18 for 50g pouch. (about 1981)
The same tobacco today in Australia costs $102.30..
In the UK it equates to about £26.80 which in AUD is $48.30 and in America it is USD $50.99 for 5 pouches. (AUD $67.08)
Our government has taxed the absolute shit out of smoking trying to force people to quit!
If I was still smoking the same amount as when I quit, it would be costing me over $300 / week!!
Don't get me started on beer and spirits!
