Correct, they will post to your coinbase account, from there you can transfer to your wallet.
Make sure you keep an eye on the transfer fees. When the network is busy it can get pricey and its possible you may just want to leave it there if its small amounts. I think I have 4-500 over there still in random coins. Once you build up you would for sure want to transfer it out.

I've got $120 pending right now. I'm just going to leave it alone. Keep an eye on the price. I wanna know when it drops significantly.

ETH isnt to bad, my son bought I think $10 of BTC and wanted to transfer to exodus and the fee was like $8...I was like hold on....maybe just keep it there
